Karyn and Jennifer finally finished helping sell Girl Scout cookies. But their day still wasn't done. Before returning to Karyn's aunt Beth's house, they had to drop off several of the Brownies. It was after 6 p.m. when they dropped the last girl off.

"How about eating dinner before we head back home girls?" Karyn's mom asked. "Why don't you call your mom and see if it is okay, Jennifer?"

Jon/Jennifer was a bit nervous as she dialed home.

When her mother answered, Jennifer said, "Hi Mom. It is me. We are running late so we thought we would stop for dinner before heading home. Is it okay?" Jennifer wasn't sure if she wanted her mother to say yes or no. She was hungry, but she was beginning to feel too comfortable as a girl, and that worried Jon.

"I don't see a problem with that, Jennifer. What time do you think you will be home?"

Jennifer did a bit of thinking, 'Hour and a half drive, hour to hour and a half for dinner, call it three hours. It is after 6:30.'

"I'd guess about ten maybe half past ten." She said.

"That should be fine. I'll leave the porch light on for you." Jennifer's mom said. "Don't forget that we are helping serve at the church luncheon tomorrow."

Jennifer had forgotten. 'Well, I'll be back to being Jon by then.' Remembering that the girls helped by carrying around drinks and cleaning up. 'thank god for that.'
