As they ate their pizza, Dennis couldn't help but occasionally glance at Kate. She really did look a lot like Kathryn. It wasn't just his imagination. But ... Kathryn would about 34 years old by now, the same age as Dennis (in his normal male body). Kate was barely older than twenty. Maybe she's Kathryn's daughter? Or cousin? He wanted to believe those things because they were so logical ... but Kate didn't just look related to Kathryn. She looked like Kathryn. Could it be that both of them were the same person? He already knew that someone could change their appearance (Hello! Dennis was using the Medallion of Zulo, remember?), so it was at least possible that that's what was happening. But did Kathryn use the Medallion? He wasn't sure. He supposed that she could have turned into her younger self. Maybe Kate really was Kathryn in disguise. Perhaps she was attending this school in search of clues to Terra's disappearance, just like he was. But why the Goth thing? From what he could remember, Kathryn was against that sort of thing. She wanted to become a nun, remember? Dennis just couldn't figure ...
"Why do you keep looking at me like that?" Kate asked, breaking him out of his thoughts. "Just fucking stop it, okay? It's like you've never seen a Goth before." She paused. "You have seen a Goth before, right? You don't come from some sheltered home or some shit, do you?"
"No, of course not," Dennis said. "I went to public school. I've seen Goths before." Not many, but his high school had at least two, back then.
"Good," Kate said, smiling. "I don't want to hang out with someone who wants to be a fucking nun."
