"I thought it was a mistake," thought Jennifer. Quick thing might have yet saved her.
Because people who hear the wish remember the previous reality. So Jennifer, though a 10 year old, knew she was Jon. Fortunately, Jon's sister wasn't aware of this feature, which gave Jennifer a chance to recover the rock some time in the future.
There was only one problem: she had blurted out the name Jennifer. She knew that that was what his mother would have named her had she been born a girl, but there was no way to be sure that was her name now.
"You know I don't play with you like that," said Jessica.
"Aww," said Jennifer, and ran away to her room. A quick check of some school papers in what was now a girl's room showed that Jennifer was right about the name.
But a minute later, the door opened. Jessica was staring in. "That's incredible," she said. "It's as if you were my sister all along..."
"Of course I'm your sister!" said Jennifer.
"This thing is magic," said Jessica. "I wish you were a teenage boy again?"
Jennifer felt hopeful for a brief second but she knew wishes can't be reversed. Nothing happened.
"It won't let me," said Jessica, who still thought that Jennifer didn't remember anything. "I guess I'm going to have a 10 year old girl for a sister. Well, if things are going to be this way, then I wish...."
