Silas and the children were there as they were supposed to be. However, those dried out corpses should not have been able to get up and shuffle around like they were doing. I took a deep breathe and held up my hand as I began the Firepalm spell. One of the children was burned to ashes. That was one enemy down, but the others now knew I was there and became hostile. The other two children began to shuffle towards me with the moans and groans one would expect from the undead. They were also much quicker than I had expected. I punched one with my gauntlet covered fists, but that allowed the other to take a swipe from me with their bony fingers. I continued punching one of the children while evading the other's claws. I was able to kill them both with only minor injuries. Silas was the only one left. His eyes glowed with an unholy power as he lifted his hand and summoned a fireball to throw at me. I was stunned and got it. When it made impact, it force blew me back to the stairs. It let me know he was a stronger spell caster than me.

Xenoz scoffed at me as he walked down the stairs and said "You shouldn't leave me behind if you want to enter combat, Mistress. It might be dangerous". He bent at the waist to look down on me from the step he was on. If it was not coming from Xenoz, I would get pissed off. He was right. I should have made him follow me down into the cellar. Xenoz made quick work of him and Silas was dead for a second time. I told Xenoz to bring up the dead bodies of the children. He nodded and held them by the collars of their shirts. Their bodies were dragged on the floor to the stairs. I sighed and rolled my eyes. Nothing could hurt them now that they were corpses. I just started walking up the stairs to where everyone would be gathering. There was a small crowd as we emerged and brought out the bodies. They were horrified and angered. "I knew that we should have sold the kid off with his crazy father! Practicing who knows what and getting children to join in" one man said. The others seemed to agree with him. I held my tongue on the subject.

I looked at the crowd and said "From what I can tell, he had a grudge on you for betraying his father. I don't care that he felt that way, but it made a mess of things in the end. What happened to him was a major tragedy, but to involve children in his revenge is a bit distasteful". They looked down and looked upset. "I'm sorry that the village lost children. Children are the lifeblood of a village" I said as I walked off. As I made my way to the center, I saw that I completed the quest. The reward had put me over the top to get to level 5. That was nice. I did not have to do much to reach this far. I wondered how far I could get by milking the worship of the villagers. Xenoz was right behind me as we patrolled the village. There was not much going on in the village. I guessed it was a tribute to how peaceful and small it was. There were only thirteen houses and a lumber mill in Vanilla Village. The vanilla orchids that grew in and around the village gave it its name. That was pretty nice. As I was getting bored walking around, I saw an elf that looked like Suzie.
