Jon walked into the main shop area and smiled at his customer. He already knew that the guy's name was Willy Hayes and that he was looking for a gift for his newlywed wife Ashley, who was an interior decorator, which was the reason that the device that Jon wished up would be just perfect.

"Hello, how may I help you?" Jon asked, even though he already knew how he could help.

His customer jumped a bit at his voice and spun around. "Where did you come from?"

"Oh, I've always been here. You just didn't notice me." Jon smiled. "So, have you found what you're looking for?"

"No, not really. I want to get something for my wife. Tomorrow is our first-year wedding anniversary and I wanted something special for the occasion. Something she'd really like and appreciate. She's an interior decorator, you know, so I was thinking ..."

"I've got just the thing," Jon said, interrupting.

"Oh really?"

"Oh yes. Come this way." Jon lead the guy further back into the shop and stopped at the shelf where he placed the room changing device just moments earlier. "Here we are." He picked up the black box-looking device.

"What is it?"

"It can change the style of any room it's placed in."

"Really? What is it? Some kind of projection thing?"

"No, it's not an illusion. The room and everything in it actually changes."

"Get outta here," Willy said, obviously not believing.

"Do you need a demonstration?" Jon didn't wait for an answer. He walked into the small bathroom attached to the shop (which was mainly for employees) and lifted up the device. "See these two protrusions on each side of the device?"

"Yeah?"

"Just push them in and place the device up against a wall, like so," Jon said, doing it. "Then release the device." He released it and it stayed where it was, as if it were glued to the wall. "It will stay attached to a wall until you push in the protrusions again." He pushed them in and the device came off the wall easily. "See?"

"But how do you make it work?" Willy was kind of getting interested now. He wondered how the device was able to stay on the wall. Magnets maybe? Yeah, that must have been it. There was metal behind the wall and ...

"Like this," Jon answered, interrupting the guy's thoughts. He attached the device to the wall again. "See this large rectangular button at the bottom of the device here?"

Willy nodded.

"Just hold it down and speak. When you let go of the button, the room will take on the type of style you spoke into the device. To return the room to normal, simply remove the device from the wall."

"That's it?"

"Yep."

"Show me," Willy said. He was intrigued, but still skeptical.

Jon pressed and held down the button. "Blue." Then he released it. Nearly in a flash, everything in the bathroom changed color, becoming some shade of blue. Jon pressed and held down the button again. "Red." He released it, and everything in the room changed color again, this time becoming some shade of red. He removed the device from the wall and everything turned back to normal.

"I'll take it," Willy said, without hesitation. He didn't know how the thing worked, but it did exactly what the shopkeeper said it would. "How much?"

"$10.85," Jon said.

"Really? That's all?"

"Yep, that's all."

Willy grabbed two fives and a one out of his wallet. "Does it have to be exact change?"

"Nope. I can give you back change."

They walked to the checkout counter and Willy paid for it, then left the shop.

As Willy left, Jon shouted out after him "Oh, and remember not to use it outside." He wondered if Willy heard him.
