Lancelot gave us another look before turning and walking out the alley. We waited for him to be totally gone before we looked at each other. “That fucking bastard thinks we’ll serve him after what he did to us.” Reiner said as he gestured to where he had once been. “We have to go find where he is and kill him!” Tybalt snapped. I put a stop to that line of thinking. “There’s no way we can beat him. It would be a suicide mission.” Elis said “We absorbed his power and got way stronger. We can fight him.” The others nodded. I shook my head. “Think clearly! If he could just give you that much power from just three thrusts and standing there until it made you cum, how strong do you think he would actually have to be!? Besides, Reiner, you were the one saying he had to have done something to you. He’ll have a way to keep you from fighting back.” I said. They looked angry. “Then what the hell are we going to do!? We need to get revenge.” Reiner said as he stomped an foreleg to the ground. “The best revenge is living well. We need to get out of here and flee to another country. I have an idea.”

Reiner crossed his arms and said “What are you talking about? Why would we flee? I want to go fight to the death.” “Even if you could kill him-and you can’t- what happens next? He comes back and kills you. It is useless.” That made all three of them hang their heads as they came to terms with it. We walked out of the alley and I walked around until we found Suzie. She smiled at me until she saw the chimeras. I told them the story and she looked shocked. “Damn. That’s some bad luck. I completed the quest to become an assassin. I still have to find the guild and I don;t have to do it in Epic City.” she said with a shrug and a smile. I smiled back and said “Well, I was thinking of going to Sacrilmon.” She looked unsure. “That’s on the other end of the map! I don’t think we could get there if we had a week.” “I’ll let you ride on my back. That will cut down some time if we go at that pace. Besides, we have lots of time to explore while we travel.” I assured her. She climbed on my back and said “Let’s go. We have places to be.” I smiled and we left Epic City. I was not going to miss it that much.

I led the way while the others followed. We passed by several villages and the villagers did not seem to like us. We were all much stronger than them so they stood at a distance when we met them on the road. It was mostly because we were not human. They could also tell that two of us were Players. That was concerning, but it only reinforced the fact that we should leave. I just hoped that Sacrilmon treated non-humans better. We would have to rampage there if they did not. As we passed Giganto City we saw a large army amassing outside the gates. We asked the people around and they told us that Giganto was attacking Epic. They did not like that Players built a temple and were gaining influence there. I was thinking of stopping here. Suzie shook her head. “These chumps won’t stand a chance against Lancelot. Let’s go.” she said. She was absolutely right. Lancelot’s order could take them out alone. I did not want to see how the high leveled the retribution force would be. It would be best to pretend we never saw this place. That is what we did. “Cowards” Tybalt muttered under his breath was we rode on.

We ignored him and continued going. Going at our pace meant that there was a lot of people and things to see. There were various fetch quests and bandit encounters. Suzie and I did a lot of them by ourselves as we were the lowest leveled members in the party. Because of the scaling of the encounters, the bandits were all between Levels 40-60. We would be beaten to an inch of our lives before they would step in. Because they were unarmed, we let them take the bows and arrows as well as the daggars. Suzie was not able to use the loot because it was too hig leveled for her. We did split the money. High leveled bandits had a lot of loot. Because of us clearing the bandits, we all got the perk “Lawman”. It gave us a 10% buff in damage when facing NPC criminals. We were also given a higher reputation in Ether. Reputation changed how the NPCs generally felt about you. Their intital feelings were based on reputation, affection and their allegiances. Like Suzie told me, it was not worth it to fully trust an NPC unless it was totally loyal to you for one reason or another. I still liked the awed stares we got.
