"Karyn Black is the biggest bitch at school," the voice from the device said. "Why is she there with you? I can't imagine myself being friends with her."
"I'm a bitch in your reality?" Karyn asked, shocked that something like that could happen, even if it was in another reality.
"Wow," Jon said. "I wish I could see that."
"Jon! You're still holding the stone!" Karyn yelled.
Jon had just enough time to look down at the glowing stone, before he disappeared from that universe and reappeared in the universe he was communicating with. He saw another Jon (who looked almost exactly like himself) and Sarah McMillan. Except Sarah was dressed a lot more like Karyn.
Karyn stared at the space where Jon was. He was gone and he took the stone with him. She got a sinking feeling that she was never going to see her friend again.
