It was obvious that Karyn had changed just like a bunch of other people had. But how come she didn't notice? He had made a wish for her to be aware of anything interesting happening. He even told her that before school started. But for some reason, her memories had changed anyway. Did that mean that the same thing would happen to him too? He hoped not.
"So, Jon," Stephanie said, breaking him out of his thoughts. "Can I use the stone?"
"Huh?" Jon uttered. How did she know about the stone?
What Jon didn't know was that he'd made the wish, so he was immune to what was going on. Karyn was merely...aware. That didn't mean she was unaffected.
Karyn, however, while aware that people were changing, had developed somewhat different motivations.
