Jon was at his locker, opening it to put his school bag inside, when suddenly, he heard a loud high-pitched yell. It was the scream of a girl. He threw his school bag in his locker, shut the door, and ran around the corner towards the scream to see what happened.
It turned out it wasn't a girl. It was two nerds. He entered the classroom just in time to see Jay Duncan engulfed in a flash of blue light from a crazy looking device.
The device was was on a cart, and looked like a projector of some kind. There were parts and wires sticking out from it.
"What happened?" He said, as Jay collapsed to the floor.
"Those stupid football players yanked out a bunch of wires...we were trying to fix it, when suddenly it went off," Wallace Richardson, Jay's friend, said, running over to Jay. "It shouldn't hurt anyone..."
Jay stirred, and slowly got to his feet. He looked dizzy.
"Are you all right?" Jon and Wallace both asked.
