It took a few days for the enchantment to be ready. The enchanter in town was not that good at his job. It was just a castle town. A city would have much better quality for demons that could do the job, but I was not going to go in the opposite direction of my goal for a simple enchantment. When we got them, I gave 3 rings to Dulgron. "You can pick 2 people to come along with us." I said. He looked at me and said "This will be a big decision. Are you sure you want me to choose half the crew?" I nodded. "I trust your judgement. I have the other half of the crew. I'm sure it will be fine." He nodded with a smile. "Okay then. I'll see you at the inn." he said before leaving. I went to get Phirlax from the guild. He had climbed the ranks with Thalox and become a Bronze ranked Adventurer. That put him in the lower-mid tier of adventurers. He was also the 2nd highest level out of all of us. He was level 29 and the angry Thalox was level 30. They should have been able to do the ritual for the Deadly Sin, but they either have not had the time or had failed without telling anyone. I bet it was the latter option.

Getting past the level gate was hard enough for random NPCs. I still had not reached level 25 yet. The Deadly Sin ritual also had half the odds of success as the element ritual. When I got to the guild building, I asked the receptionist if I could speak with Phirlax. I was annoyed when they asked me what I needed him for. "We have a lot of other perfectly good adventurers on hand." he said. It was an orange eyed demon. I sighed and asked again for Phirlax. The receptionist was angry and aggressively stomped about to go check. When he came back, he smirked at me. He was still out on a mission. "That's perfectly fine. I will wait here in the lobby for him. Can you tell him that Uraris the blacksmith is here to see him when he comes in?" I said as politely but firmly as I could. "Yes. Of course." the receptionist said through gritted teeth. I then sat down and waited. It took an hour for him to come see me. He was in his full armor and covered in green blood. I did not even want to know. "Do you have a good job for me, Uraris the Blacksmith?" he said with a smile. I asked if he was free to leave.

He nodded. He said "I get commissioned for my jobs. Whether by clients or by the guild itself. Since I'm Bronze ranked, I can be a little picky about the jobs I take on too now." He puffed out his chest with pride. That was good to hear. We left the guild and walked towards the inn. I told him about my plan. "You want me to go with you and Dulgron to the other side of the Curse Veil? There is no way we won't get caught. I can fight my way out of trouble if I need to, but you two are going to get killed." I took a ring out to show him. "With this on, we could look like humans. That way we can find a way to live among them until we can gain power." I said. Phirlax just looked at it and then at me. He then put a firm hand on my shoulder. He was a bit taller than me. "So, you want a big protector on this trip, huh? Someone strong and a bit dominant?" he flirted. I scoffed and said "Sure. I like you more than I like that "great" Thalox we know." He laughed and we continued walking. "Fine. I'll go with you." he said. I gave him one of the rings. "I have some things to take care of. I'll see you later!" he said.

I watched as he went home. I then turned to Azgath's house. His mother answered the door. Her face fell into a snarl when she recognized me. "What do you want, wine eye!?" she spat. "I just want to talk to Azgath. Is he here right now?" I asked. "Why do you need to know!? Don't think I don't know who it was that marked my son!" she said. I shrugged and said "This just makes it easier. Let me speak to him. I just want to talk to him right now. Don't make it worse for him." She flinched. Azgath came from behind her and asked "Who is it, Mother?" I said "I want to speak to you. Can I come in?" Azgath looked down in shame as he said "Let him in Mother." She grumbled as she moved from the doorway. I stepped in and said "The time has come for me to leave the town. I want you to come with me. You'll come, right?" "There is no way in hell he'll go with you!" his mother snapped. Azgath was just quiet. "Come with me to my room at the inn tonight. I'll tell you more about it." I said. Azgath began to tremble as he began taking steps towards me. "No!" his mother screamed as she held him.
