Steven was fuming.

This... this was just... well... it could have been worse, she guessed. But then her biology seemed to be a mash up of different concepts. That was not too surprising given she was a plant changed. Flowers and plants tended to have so many different 'modes' to them, depending on environment. Hell, Yeast didn't even know if it was a plant or bacteria, and just did what was best.

There was a knock on her door. "Steven?" called her mother. "Ben is downstairs."

"Crap! What is he doing here?" she asked tensing.

"You invited him I think" reminded her mother. "You usually do things on Sunday, don't you?"

"That was before the sun changed mum!" Said Steven huffing a little.

Mrs Daguerre smiled a little. "Well, now you have changed, and so has Ben... there is no reason you can't go and enjoy yourselves. It should be more fun then trying to do things at night."

"I'm not going on a date with him mom!"

Mrs Daguerre blinked.

Steven blushed. "I- I mean- just- why are you trying to push me with him?" Now Steven was on the defensive. Why was she trying to make out like this was all normal?

Her mother looked to her daughter confused. "I- I didn't mean to Steven. You were friends before, and there's no reason you can't be now. I- was only pushing you to go back to enjoying your life... I'm sorry." Mrs Daguerre looked a little put off by her daughter's outburst.

Steven now felt a little bad. Her mother was really only trying to help. "B-but... I- I'm a girl I'm- it wouldn't be right. People would think-"

"People think what they think Steven, that shouldn't stop you." She placed a hand gently onto her shoulder.

"And I don't want him to see me like this-" She said sniffling a bit.

"It isn't that bad Steven," sighed her mother.

"Not bad?!" she shouted angrily. "look at me!"

Her mother just smiled pleasantly again. "So, you are fruiting... that means you are a healthy plant now, that's all."

Steven looked quietly at the mirror. Fruiting it seems could do all sorts of things. But to her, it was certainly odd. On a very tiny vine, hanging from each ear was a curious sapphire coloured fruit. It almost looked like it was glazed in sugar, giving it a very curious sparkle. To most observing, it would look like she was wearing earnings. She wasn't sure if she was supposed to try pulling them off, but when she tugged on it they actually hurt.

That wasn't the only change on her. her breasts had become very tender, and her scent seemed to be on overdrive. The entire house was smelling of lilac and jasmine. The flower girl was probably attracting ever insect in a ten mile radius.

"But mom- I- I don't even know what more happens w-when I- F-fruit," she said apprehensively.

"I know its scary dear, but I think you'll be fine. More changes probably wont happen until tomorrow anyway."

"But I'll be in school then!" she almost cried it out.

"Relax dear. We'll just have to play it by ear- no pun intended," She said touching the curious earring-fruit her daughter had grown. It looked quite pretty on her, she felt. She did wish they understood more of Steven's biology but... this really was all they could do. "Now go on and go to the arcades... or whatever you kids get up to these days."

Robert held the strange demon-baby in her arms before putting her back into a cot. She had been using the strange ability to walk through the doors of bad neighbourhoods in an attempt to find the child's parents.. however to no avail. She wasn't sure if the passages would grant her wish for something as vague as this, given that she didn't know who they were... but it was the only option she had. She hoped the baby might know, and would somehow direct them...

She was in a foreign country now, and had no idea quite where they were. She decided to rest her hooves a little as she considered her next move. Obviously she had to get back, there was no way the child was this far away.

"Why can't I find your parents little one?" She asked the baby. She touched the child's forehead as she slept, smiling a little. How could something so innocent possibly be a devil-changed? She was the most beautiful baby she had ever seen... the child woke up and seemed to be asking for her bottle. Robert complied, thinking a bit on how anyone could just abandon her.

The devil-priestess had an idea. It was probably a bit of a gamble... but... the baby must know at least something of her home... "Let the children lead the way," she said to herself. She took her back to the 'door' that connected all these places to the devil changed, and closed her eyes.

"Fly child," she coaxed. "Go on... just fly," she said softly.

The little baby seemed a bit confused but started using her demon wings to fly around the darkness. Robert kept her in sight now. In theory the child should know where she belongs... the devil baby was hovering around a particular door now.

Robert found a strange new door- and opened it- right into someone's bedroom. She knew she found the child's home...

"What the- How did you get in here!" A voice cried- then noticed the devil Baby. "Oh.. my.. God.."
