Jenny was a little concerned at the mood of her guardian. Tetra was acting very odd in her bag, and it was difficult to talk to her while class was going on. She glanced to Artemis and Lilly, who had not said a lot, and just getting on with the work. Bruce was trying to get Lilly's attention (as usual), but not having a lot of luck today. The a animal girl seemed to be in her own world. She didn't seem too inclined on today's topic for some reason, a biology lesson.

Melanie on the other hand, was looking with awe. In particular the individual letters as they were written on the blackboard. However she had a small tantrum when they words were erased. She was looking at a rubber with the same fear as she did the dolls before. After a bit of calming, she relaxed... but she tried to throw the rubber out the window, and even broke the end off her pencil.

"I don't want to erase anything," Melanie said emphatically.

"But what if you made a mistake?" Asked the teacher with concern.

Melanie looked up. "How would erasing take away a mistake?" she actually shuddered at that.

Jenny kept an eye on her and she seemed to be doing okay even if she hated rubbers... she was more concerned of Lilly. She glanced at her again.

Tetra poked her head out from her bag. "I'm worried about her too," she said quietly.

Jenny glanced about making sure nobody would notice them speak. "So she does have real magic?"

'Real' was a hard word to really work with. "I'm... I'm getting a sort of feeling about it. But I dunno. Some of it is good other things are not so good. It's cause the world is changing even more." the cat girl said a little enigmatically.

Change... so much change. Wasn't change a good thing? It was so hard to know where the line was now. Magic has entered the world in a way that was accessible to someone as ordinary as her friend. But because it wasn't 'her' power, it placed the squirrel-girl at great risk to use it. She imagined her sister, Melanie when she first came to the world and started fading away, when disconnected from the nature of their magic number... she imagined that happening to Lilly. It was a hard image to shake off. Magic could be incredibly dangerous. It was not the infinite power imagined... there were limits. At least, to the magics they employed so far.

Still, there was always a warmer fire... and Lilly, was using the embers alone.

Jenny adjusted her lap to allow the cat-girl to hide on her knee. "I'm still glad you let her have the stick Tetra. Even if I am worried 'bout her."

Tetra glanced up. "I didn't have a choice..." Seriously what the heck was that thing! She wasn't sure at all. It wasn't a magic guardian like herself, even if it seemed to be trying to fulfil that role. A pseudo guardian, and a pseudo magic girl... just 'trying' to be something they are not. They were responsible for that, by 'inspiring' her in that direction. It wasn't something she actually felt proud of doing.

"So... we should let the other magic girls know 'bout her too?" asked Jenny.

Tetra shook her head. "Jenny, I appreciate that she is your friend and all... but you can't involve her. She isn't magic... not really. Artemis has her own abilities, but Lilly is just a.. tree climber. That's what the sun did for her."

Jenny sighed.

"Ah... Jenny," said the teacher suddenly. "I understand you have formed a 'club' with some students in another school?" she asked reading a little letter on her desk. It had a list of names on it.

"I.. have?" she asked confused.

"That is what I have been told. You have been given use of a classroom at all break times, and after school." the spider teacher said with a curious look and smile, as she scuttled to the side. "I hope to see some great work from such an effort."

Selene was trying to keep a brave face for Lucas. But things were indeed difficult. The Lady was with her, and with their close proximity she drew strength... but it was a temporary situation.

"Does Lucas know?" the Woman asked carefully.

"I think so. But she does not wish it to be so," she said gently.

"The presence of the Enemy Moon is waning your power" she said softly. It was so sad to see and watch. Only another like her could see the difference to how she was before. It was like an invisible wolf was on her, chasing her very spirit.

The moon goddess nodded. "Yes... I have used more of my power and have foreseen the time, of the first magic death. It will happen when The dark moon passes in front of me. Earth will be bathed in darkness... I am unsure, if I will be there, once the other moon passes. I can see nothing of what happens after."

The lady hugged Selene. "Such is the way of things... Why do you not tell Lucas?"

"She sees me as so strong, and of near infinite power. She draws power from that confidence... it also helps me, in some ways."she said smiling a little. "I am not concerned Sister. If it does come to pass, that I will be no more, I have Artemis now. She will continue where I have completed my last dance. The Earth will not be alone... I know she will make me proud."

The Woman nodded. "I am sure Lucas will ensure you do not pass for a long time yet. Julian could never dance as well as you, and I would not enjoy taking him in my company among the stars. He is simply the new hunter... we have experienced this before."

Selene smiled just a little. She survived the hunt last time... could she do so this time?
