Lucas had never actually journeyed to an alternate universe before.

Actually... from what she heard, there was no such thing as alternate universes. It just didn't work that way. Well- not a stable one anyway.

The rainbow roads were a curious 'zone' to travel in, not exactly the hyperspace that science fiction buffs would assume. The rainbows looped, going up and down.. left right.. in all directions.

But where Lucas was going, was in 'somewhere else'. This was where the rainbows actually became akin to water, an actual stream... and it looked like Wings was about to descend down a waterfall, and into a deep pool of colour..

Here there was just the rainbow sea... Wings started to sink, as the physical substance of the rainbow was lost. Now there was just a colourful rainbow space with no other paths... nowhere to go now, but into 'real space'.

"Okay Wings, lets see where we are..." Lucas activated the 'rising warp', that brought the ship into real space.

The ship slowly ascended.. but it was not a 'real space' that it emerged into. It was all white, with not a single star. Lucas checked out the window on the deck, and found it was an empty nothingness, much like what could have existed in the big bang. A kind of 'non space' feel to it.

... but that made no real sense, as this was a 'real space'. At least as real as she could tell.

There was only one planet here... just one.

It didn't even qualify as a 'planet' as it had no sun... and was about as large as the sun itself. The event horizon was not easily defined though. It was as if there was a 'reality' that kept on decreasing to the background of the non-space.... but never quite going away completely. A mingling of non-reality and 'a' reality.

Lucas had to pause and stare at the impossible planet... it was so surreal, so very strange. She had to bring a recorder! Wings approached closer as she started to record this strange place on a camera.

The 'planet' was ringed, with a rainbow going around it in a multitude of colours. The colours seemed to feed into the black darkness of the inside, reflecting with curious lights that danced in her eyes.

This was the core of an entire universe... this universe... she was approaching it from the outside!

Well, Lucas didn't come here just to stare at a black dot in white-space. "Descend into it wings!"

The ship slipped passed the rainbow rings, as it descended into the darkness... when suddenly, there was light! Everything became blue, as if Wings had descended into an ocean. An ocean she was right at home in, made of sky.

Now everything look 'animated'. Lucas was familiar with this form, having 'endured' (quite happily) the aura of her girlfriend, the anime-girl Cass. It was certainly very strange though to have the ship wings take on the anime form, as it flew through 'anime space'.

It was a curious layer, filled with stars and there... right there, was a sun. This world did have a sun! How strange! This place was geocentric! (or at least something very similar.)

Still wings descended down, past this layer. The sun could still be seen, but it had now taken a more 'normal' appearance, relative to Earth. Even wings was looking normal here though.. just a little more 'angular'.

Now there was air, and she could feel the wind buffet the ship. Strange crystalline spires and curious floating islands, that cascaded huge waterfalls into the clouds bellow.

Still Wings descended to the next level, past the white clouds.

Now things were looking more like Earth. There was lush greenery, though no evidence of any cities or civilisations... The way it all looked though, there was something oddly 'familiar' about it. It was.. strange. It was like she was looking at something born of the best CGI system possible. A reflection of reality, but not a 'true' reality. It was... almost too perfect?

There was an old trick used, to work out the nature of reality. It worked in the past when things were 'weird'. "Eh.. wings? Can you show me a circle here, and calculate pi for me?" she asked the great Goddess-ship.

Wings showed a circle on a display, along with an equation.

Lucas looked it over. "Hm... Pi only goes to the 6th to the power of 6th digit? So... its not infinite here. Okay... so... hm... Out of curiosity wings, what 'is' the last digit of pi here?"

the display quickly showed: 6

Lucas looked at it with a faint mirthful laugh escaping her voice. "Of course! What else would it be? Okay, this is going to get even stranger before it makes any sense... magic girl six must be here."

Something was really 'odd' about this universe....
