Doing the trial test run meant that you got average stats in everything for your avatar. You could only go, do, and say what is acceptable for your character. Since he was a cadet, I would be able to try my best, but there was no guarantee that I would be able to get into the SWAT team. That was where I wanted to be. Having access to a mecha was a no-brainer for me. I could always change characters even if I failed here, so it was totally fine to see what the best way to get in was. The lecture ended in a salute and we were taken to the rest of the facility for the tests. The first place was a shooting range. I was used to shooters using guns of all types. My scores were a near perfect demonstration of marksmanship. To be honest, while doing my best to afford FOG, every single night was spent playing to destress. It was almost to the detriment to everything else in my life. Luckily, I was able to barely keep things together until getting the headset and game. The next thing we needed to do was a 25-lap run around an Olympic regulation track. I was able to keep with the middle of the pack.

Even going through drills was not much of a difficulty for me. I was not the fastest, strongest or most agile cadet. I did know how to move and get into and out of cover. It was the competence I could show the trainers that put me up in the ranks. Sparring was where I suffered a bit. The shooting games I played usually did not put much emphasis on melee and grappling. Now, I was getting tossed around and looking like a chump. It took me a couple of rounds before I got the hang of it. That was when I figured some tricks by using the NPC attack patterns to my advantage. Hopefully, I was able to save it. The next part was optional. If you wanted to try out all the special vehicles or the mechas, you could. I went to the mecha room and there was a few mechanics and scientists there. There were 2 classes of mecha: the 5-meter and 100-meter. We had a simulator for the 100-meter mecha, but a platoon of 5-meter mechas were available for use. I made sure to get in one. First, I had to change my outfit into the skintight mecha suit. Nude in the dressing room, I saw Timmy's real sabotage.

Finally naked, I could see my body clearly. My avatar was a cuntboy. While male in every other conceivable way, there was a vagina instead of a penis. No fucking way. I was going to have to deal with gender dysphoria if I kept this avatar for too long. This cutting-edge technology had a great number of applications. One of them was dealing with body dysphoria and dysmorphia. Some people were fine with switching up every now and again. Normally, it would not be a problem. However, you only got one shot to make a character unless you bought another memory card for the game. I was already broke when I bought the game. There was no way that I could afford another one. That meant that my actual permanent avatar needed to be as perfect for me as possible. I definitely was going to need to change it after the trial period. "I am so going to get Timmy for this shit!" I muttered under my breath as I looked at the packaging they gave me with the new suits. They told me how to wear the body suit and interface headsets. A mecha suit increases the individual pilot's synchronization.

I heard that the synchronization ratio went up some by cutting down on interference. It was one of the reasons it was so important. They seemed bulky at first glance, but they became skintight by activating a special mechanism located on the wrist that decompresses the air inside the suit. Each one is engraved with the pilot's designated number on the top of the chest, and onto the life support apparatus located on the back. These just had "tt" on them because these were for tests. All of the suits contain several devices to monitor the pilot's health condition, as well as being able to provide at least some medical aid due to being equipped with built-in defibrillators. They also possess system displays, such as internal clocks that displays the internal battery power remaining in the mecha, on the back of the hand. They sported a reinforced area around the chest, with two vent-like structures corresponding to the pectorals. The upper chest and shoulders of the suits are a different color than the lower parts, though more like 2 different shades of the same color with a striped pattern on the hips.
