Jon watched as they went about their morning routine, his morning routine in fact; aside from the extra head there didn't seem to be any difference between this Jon and him. He watched as they did the same morning exercises he'd habitually did in the hope of hulking up, but which never seemed to have any effect. He waited as they headed to the bathroom, only to have to wait for their sister Zoe to finish, only for their brother Mikey to rush in while their back was turned, making them wait even more.
When they finally did get chance to shower, Jon wondered if they too sang in it, and if so, were they as bad as he'd been? They were. In fact, as they were duetting and not in harmony, if anything they were worse.
By now Jon was getting bored of this; your own morning routine was dull enough when you were living it, but when you could only watch someone else acting it out...
Suddenly, before his eyes things span up, as if he'd hit fast-forward. Before he knew it, the Jons were getting dressed and packing their bag for school. He cursed himself, wanting to know what had happened and wishing he could go back and find out. And just as suddenly, everything went in reverse, rewinding the day until halfway through the shower where things began progressing at regular speed.
Jon wondered if he'd done that and decided to see if he could influence this universe. He began by trying to get the Jons to step out of the shower. But they stayed there. The cold tap in the sink, however, did turn on.
The Jons yelped in shock and leapt out the shower, looking around for their kid brother to tear them a new one for the prank, but the Mikeys were nowhere to be seen.
'Interesting,' thought Jon, 'I can't directly influence people, but somehow I can alter the world around them to make them do things. I wonder how far I can push them?'
