Jon and Pete turned and saw Karen Mills, someone who Jon used to be friends with all the way back in elementary school (Karyn used to think it was funny that they both had the same name, only spelled differently), but they had grown apart since then, mainly because of the type of person she eventually became, which was a Goth. In the last five or so years, she had drifted towards the gothic kids and had even become better friends with Jon's own Goth sister Zoe than she had with Jon and Karyn. And now, she was a prominent member of the gothic crowd ... if you could call something like that prominent.
She threw Jon a wicked grin, then sauntered over to him, smiling all the way.
Jon stared at her, his mouth hanging open, realizing what that wish had just done. There was no way to reverse it. But at least there was one good thing about it, and that was the final part of the wish. Karen had to do whatever Jon told her. He wondered if that included telling her to stay away from him. Or maybe he could tell her to stop being a Goth. She might lose her friendship with Zoe, but Jon didn't really care about that. Losing her friendship with his sister was a small price to pay for a more normal life.
