The phone started to ring at the Gibson house.
"Zoe, would you get that?" her mom Linda asked from the kitchen.
Zoe, Jon's Goth sister, grumbled, then she did as her mom asked. Picking it up, she said "Who is this?"
"It's Karyn. Can I talk to Jon? It's important."
"Karyn? Karyn who?"
There was a pause, then "Karyn Black."
"Who is it?" Jon asked, walking into the room.
