The time we had alone was ended when Elise and Byron came into the room. "Cassandra, it's been about an hour. Have you two been enjoying yourselves?" Elise said, speaking as she hid behind her fiance. Byron was looking at me as one would look at a strange animal loose on the streets. I guessed that not everyone could be as open minded as the baron or Oscar. Cassandra walked over and showed them the sketch. He looked up from the drawing and then to me. He then repeated switching his gaze's focus about twice more. "You have many talents then, Kyo. That's fine." he said. "He did capture your smile well." Elise added. After that, I decided to take my leave. There was a whole castle to explore. There was the main hall, kitchen, training ground, bedrooms, dungeon and armory to look at. The Cat Pack and I went around seeing what we could and then we reported back to each other at the end in Chonmo's room. That was to ensure we covered more ground and that we did not miss anything that could be used to our advantage. They were not impressed with me.
Under the impression that we would go back to our ancestral lands, agreeing to let the baron take them here was seen as an unnecessary detour. That was not quite true. It was very unlikely all of us would have survived to get all 10 wins. Nuzri, as a female, was at too much of a disadvantage. Anda had already been killed off. We did get all of our freedom when we were bought out by the baron, so there was that. Killing that noble almost made up for it in their eyes though. Seeing their chance to kill others in defense of the weak baron did have a certain appeal to them. "After we've had our fill of playing guardian for these humans, we can get back to our tribal lands and start over." Chinmo said. Fimzi shook his head. "We are going to need more of us to start over. We may be for a while if we want to get enough to free the others. As long as we can free more females at least, we can mate with them and grow the next strong generation of the Calico clan." he theorized out loud. I agreed with him. It would help convince them to stay longer after all. Nuzri was fine with the plan as well.
